CAFA joins the Education and Academia Stakeholder Group (EASG)

CAFA is pleased to join the Education and Academia Stakeholder Group (EASG), one of the Major Groups and Other Stakeholders of the United Nations.

The United Nations’ coordination mechanism for civil society engagement on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) is known as the Major Groups and Other Stakeholders (MGoS). These began organizing at the 1992 UN Earth Summit in Rio de Janeiro, and today, there are 21 constituencies in this coordination mechanism, of which the Education and Academia Stakeholder Group is one. The EASG brings together civil society and academic organizations and networks to influence policy by ensuring effective participation in UN processes, including SDG implementation mechanisms at the global, regional and national levels.
