This legal report examines the case of Leonardo M. Fernández Otaño in light of the Inter-American Principles on Academic Freedom and University Autonomy. Prepared by CAFA Legal within the framework of the Coalition for Academic Freedom in the Americas (CLAA), the report analyzes the violations of academic freedom and other human rights resulting from the reprisals the scholar faced after exercising his right to freedom of expression and participating in peaceful demonstrations in Cuba.
