Roundtable on academic freedom and autonomy in the United States with the UNSR on the right to education

On April 30, 2024, Scholars at Risk (SAR) and the CAFA, in partnership with the Office of the UN Special Rapporteur on the right to education, will host a hybrid roundtable discussion in Washington DC, in the context of the official visit of Ms. Farida Shaheed to the country. The roundtable will gather diverse and relevant US actors who are working on the promotion and protection of academic freedom in the country, to share their experience, analysis, and recommendations with the UNSR on the right to education. The Special Rapporteur will present a report with recommendations following her visit to the UN Human Rights Council in June 2024.
